Sleeping with a stream nearby is so soothing. We are at the edge of camp and enjoyed a peaceful night’s sleep.
Our morning began with coffee at the BirdsView. April, our server from last night was there, hard at work. What a wonderful place with great people. We sat near a man who was here for logging. He came from Montana where he was born and raised. So interesting to listen to him share what the logging business is like.
Soon after, we headed out and on our way to Colonial Creel campground. We are now in a no cellular service area so decided to put our phones on airplane mode to save the battery. This is when preserving the assets ( our bodies and bikes) is essential. There’s no calling for help out here. It’s all up to us.
The landscape was rich with waterfalls, rivers and picturesque views. As we approached Colonial Creek campground, we realized how popular the campground was. Our campsite was nestled down amongst the trees, nearly hidden from the road. The firepit…yep, had abandoned firewood so we lucked out again with having a campfire. So warming and beautiful. Early to bed as tomorrow will be the ‘Day’!
