We woke up to a beautiful sunny morning. The skies were painted with billowing clouds.
Leaving the KOA camp in Hot Springs, breakfast is a the gas station in town. People are so curious where we came from and where we’re headed to. Most are somewhat incredulous.
Returning to Custer, we want to visit our friends at Wind Cave National Park. Albeit they’re rodents, prairie dogs are so fun to watch, especially as they communicate with one another. Fortunately, there was also a bison and coyote. Leaving Wind Cave, we returned to the Mickelson Trail. Being Monday, we saw very few people.
Once back in Custer, we returned to Custer Wolf where we had dinner during our 2023 tour. The food was just as good or maybe better than before and Mary was a perfect server. Another REALTOR and her husband was sitting at the table next to us and we quickly struck up a conversation. Nearly 30 minutes later, we parted having shared cards and stories.
Exploring the town, we had fun people watching, looking at tourist trinkets and taking photos of the bison statures. Back to our room, we settled in and caught posts, emails, life. Tomorrow would be a short day and we feel we have explored and discovered so much of the Black Hill. Truly a beautiful place!!On to Hill City tomorrow!
