Awakening to rain and wind, we are immensely grateful for the Uhaul truck. Loading our belongings, we grabbed breakfast for resuming our journey.
Shortly after leaving Ennis, snow could be on the nearby hills and the rain turned to sleet and snow. We were passed by a semi and watched the spray it created while traveling down the road. Imagine what it would be like to ride on the shoulder on a bike!
What took us nearly 8 hours to complete in 2023, we travelled in less than 2 hours. Stopping at Quake Lake Visitor Center, we were able to spend time learning more about this tragic event August 1959. The snow continued to fall blanketing the landscape in a solemn layer. The seismic event is mind boggling.
The skies parted for a short while before returning to another episode of snowfall.
Arriving in West Yellowstone, we ventured out to explore the area. Such a busy area. Soon, it was time to check in to our KOA camp-a little log cabin, rustic, simple with a portable heater. We are safe. We are warm. And we are so very blessed.
