How did Tuesday get here so fast?! And now it’s after 8!!
Our morning started with hot coffee and a great conversation with our server Shannon. Such a beautiful person with a roadrunner tattoo!! She’s from southern Florida and has enjoyed several parks like Big Bend, the northern Rim of the Grand Canyon and now is at Lake Cresent.
Our morning miles took us through beautiful forested areas of the Olympic Discovery Trail (ODT). Just a few miles in, cracked eggs shells were scattered about. Once we heard a rooster crowing, we figured some animal must have raided the hen house and stole the eggs. I think they may have been too large to be bird eggs. As we transitioned to Hwy 101, we saw another warning about a big cat.
So fun to see the crazy things in yards we pass. We traveled over the Elwha river, saw deer eating people’s gardens and watched chipmunks skidder.
By early afternoon, we were passing through Port Angeles. The ODT is a well traveled trail so we had several occasions to chat with locals. They shared great insights and stories.
Onward through beautiful meadows and farms seeing horses, cattle and fields. Entering Sequim, we cruised through the town to our hotel. Now settled and showered, it’s time to charge devices, do a gear check and share our day.
So grateful for such a peaceful day on the bike!
