Come Ride With Us!!
We’re heading to RAGBRAI LIII and taking you with us. #6 for me, #5 for Drew and #3 for Zach.
Seven days, 400+ miles, 16,000+ feet of climbing. And the most beautiful, kind, loving people on the planet!
We’ll ride with ~20,000 of newest best friends…cyclists from all over. We sleep in tents, eat corn on the cob and watermelon from roadside stands and laugh until our jaws hurt. There’s Casey’s gas stations for fabulous coffee and breakfast pizza, homemade pie from local churches and Beekman’s ice cream. Yes. You guessed it. Cyclists ride to eat and some eat to ride.
It is also a kind of pilgrimage. A time to reflect about what’s important in life. There are miles when we’re hot, the wind is in our faces and our legs are fatigued. Those are moments of incredible gratitude…to understand and experience how blessed we are to have the opportunity to ride our bikes from the Missouri to the Mississippi River. We are grateful for healthy bodies and sound minds (although some may argue this point!)
As I look back over the past year since our last trek across Iowa, I think of how much life has changed for so many people…so much change in so many ways.
Come enjoy a week in the corn with us. Laugh with us during our goofy moments. Dig deep with us if we need to outrun a tornado. And rejoice with us as the sun rises…a promise of a new day.
Oh…and training? Well, we spent hours and hours on indoor trainers using the Zwift app as temperatures rose and winds blew in Coachella Valley. We trained for humidity by drying laundry in the house. Pitched the tent in the living room.
Ready or not, here we come! Thanks for joining us!
