This is a day I’ll always remember!
One filled with tears. 💕💕💕
It started by learning that dear Rex Burtt’s CT scans are clear of lymphoma. The bravery of this beautiful 4 year old boy, his mom Lisa Burtt, dad and his amazing family is truly a testament to the power of prayer. And faith. And miracles.
This was followed by learning sweet Adalee Grace was born!! She decided to surprise the world and arrive early (taking after mom already, eh?!) Such a beautiful gift to our dear Alisa Hinze and her husband, her father Clyde A. Prox and family. Ah, seeing Alisa’s face as she holds her precious baby girl-priceless
And all this before my second cup of coffee! With a tear stained face, I knew then what an unforgettable day it would be!
As we continued to prepare for our journey across the USA, we loaded ‘our world’—bikes, gear and courage—and headed to Forks, WA. Thank you Zachary Furnia for a place to lay our heads and shuttling us to Forks. So wish you could ride with us but sharing RAGBRAI will have to do.
Stopping now and again to stretch our legs, 5 hours later we arrived. A quick check in to the hotel to drop off the bikes and then off again to see La Push—a town on the coast across the river from Rialto Beach, our starting point tomorrow.
As we explored the shore, the clouds scattered and the sun shined brightly.
And then yet another gift appeared—a bald eagle left the cliffs of a nearby rock and soared above us-its grace and majesty unmatched.
Back in Forks, we had fun exploring a bit, seeing areas where ‘Twilight’ was filmed, enjoying a nourishing meal and returning to prepare for tomorrow’s launch.
We know our dear friends did their tire dip in Florence and will be on the road in the morning. Faces full of smiles, bikes loaded, and the Pacific lapping at their rear tires, joy streamed through their photo.
And as we prepare to turn in, it is with a grateful heart that all of you are with us in spirit. You are here in our hearts. And we hope to share the most amazing journey with you.
